Inscribing Your Legacy
Tiffany E. Browne
Principal Scribe

Journalist, communications professional and creative writer Tiffany E. Browne is no novice when it comes to twisting and shifting words. Always armed with a notepad and pen, she takes acrobatic leaps and bounds on paper in order to make your formal correspondence stand out, your bio sing your praises and your blog post immediately grab the attention of your audience. Her writing is multi-facade as Tiffany has written on various topics as a journalist; namely health, politics, education, arts and entertainment.

After ten years in the federal government Tiffany said goodbye to her job with the Administration for Children and Families, but not before beginning her journey as a journalist. She started in journalism on the campus of Howard University as a staff writer with the award winning campus newspaper The Hilltop. With The Hilltop published once a week, Tiffany was a part of a small group involved in expanding its publishing frequency to twice a week. Because of their efforts & those after them, The Hilltop currently is a daily publication. Tiffany also served as a writer and rotating editor for two additional campus run publications; including Black College View.com (later renamed Howard University News Service). In 2009 she was asked to join a team comprised of Howard's School of Communications students and professors in launching 101, a national lifestyle magazine for the undergrad and graduate student.

Her freelance work can be seen in publications such as Monarch Magazine, EBONY.com (EBONY Magazine), The Crisis, The Washington City Paper, Clutch, Loop 21, Soul Bounce and the Congressional Black Caucus (ALC 2006) to name a few.
Tiffany also taps into her public relations skills from working with her own clients and time spent serving as an intern - turned part-time associate - with Heather Freeman Media and Public Relations. In working with Heather Freeman, Tiffany was able to hone her skills within Washington's hospitality industry; writing press releases, drafting bios and more for some of the nation's capital elite and nationally recognized chefs and their establishments. After working with Heather Freeman, Tiffany made a smooth transition into her current position, Director of Communications for D.C.'s Ward 7 Councilmember Yvette M. Alexander.

As a creative writer she goes by the name Mahoganie Jade Browne. As Mahoganie, she has been published in the anthology Surfacing: Phenomenal Women on Passion, Politics and Purpose (Outskirts 2006). She also made cameo appearances in a few topical blogs; including author Shelia Goss' My Invisible Husband musing the post "In Search of the Real Nola Darling" and more recently she penned the blog post "The Odd Couple: Navigating Mother-Daughter Differences" for Beyond Baby Mamas.
From 2008 to 2010, Tiffany volunteered, with the Prince George's County Chapter of the Continental Societies Inc., in facilitating a creative writing workshop for sixth grade boys in participating Prince George's County Maryland public schools. Participants of the program were able to connect with their creativity through critical thinking and introduction of various poetry and writing styles. In the end, participants put together an anthology in which they shared with their school, parents and community.

Tiffany is a graduate of Howard University with a BA in Journalism. As a native resident of Washington, D.C. she's fascinated by how much her city is changing. This fascination drives her passion to bring some of the issues & faces of local D.C. to the national level. She is a writer chasing the enriching, enlightening and perhaps entertaining stories about her city and beyond. She writes with the purpose to tell a good story.

Let Tiffany help you tell your story.
